WASCO Artificial Lichen

Make your rocks and bases come alive with this easy-to-apply (but extremely convincing) lichen material. It's simple to use. Just paint it directly on the surface of your habitat. Stipple it on rather thick. For best results, use a combination of two or more colors, varying the pattern from the center to the outside of your lichen area (either dark on the inside to light on the outside, or the other way around-it doesn't really matter). After applying the Artificial Lichen, use a hair dryer or a heat gun to bring out the tiny cracks that make it look like the real thing. To intensify the effect, apply watery black tempera paint with a pump sprayer over the lichen (after it has dried completely). This will help make the cracks stand out more realistically. WASCO Artificial Lichen was developed by taxidermist Steve Miller and is available in five natural-looking colors. One ounce containers.
