The WASCO Taxidermy Business System
Here is a goof-proof system of tagging and identifying your customer's trophies that really works. This system includes everything that you need to effectively manage your taxidermy business. Identification tags work through tanning baths, washes, tumbling, or whatever. Can be used with fish, bird or mammal taxidermy.

Step 1 Fill out the Work Order Log for recording your customer information; the name, address, telephone, size, position, price quoted, deposit paid, nameplate, completion date, special notes, type of mount, etc.

Step 2 Write the job number and/or the customer name on the aluminum tag with a ball-point pen. Identify the cape by wiring the aluminum tag to the skin. It will remain on the skin throughout tanning and mounting.

Step 3 Fill out the two-part manilla tag and give the customer the bottom portion as their claim check. Then wire the top portion to the antlers. This tag should remain on the antlers until the customer comes back and picks up the finished mount.

Aluminum Write-On Tags
For permanent identification. Write on these aluminum tags with any ball point pen, on either or both sides. Attach with wire enclosed. Tags will not deteriorate or rust with age. Will last through salting, tanning, tumbling, etc. Caution: These tags may deteriorate if left in strong acid solutions for over 12 hours.

Manilla Tie-On Tags/Claim Checks
Fill out the tag and attach to antlers for identification. The bottom portion of tag tears off to serve as the customer's claim check. Keeps all information about the mount handy. Includes wires for attaching the tags to the antlers.
