WASCO Accu-Fiber Earliners

WASCO's Accu-Fiber Earliners are somewhat flexible, yet can retain their original shape due to their "tough" rigid characteristics. They can be trimmed with scissors to accommodate nicks and irregularly shaped ears. Due to the fibrous nature of the material, glues, epoxies, and hide pastes adhere tenaciously to it (better than to plastic earliners). Unlike many earliners on the market, Accu-Fiber Earliners are recreations of the ear cartilage only and DO NOT include a molded ear butt muscle, allowing the taxidermist the freedom to position the ear in any attitude desired.

Accu-Fiber Earliner Material
For those who prefer to make their own earliners, we are now offering Accu-Fiber material in convenient 20" x 28" sheets. The Accu-Fiber material is made from sandwiching a heat-formable plastic between two tough fabric layers. To shape, simply warm the material by immersing in hot water for a few minutes, or heating with a heat gun or oven. When hot, the limp Accu-Fiber material may be draped over plaster earliner molds. When the Accu-Fiber cools down, it becomes rigid again in the exact shape of the earliner mold. It is then removed from the mold ready for the mounting process. Accu-Fiber can be reshaped repeatedly by further heating.
