Protex Pre-Soak
This product is a safe, water-soluble compound which helps to protect hair, fur and feathers from moth or other insect damage. To use, add 1 oz. of concentrated Protex Pre Soak to each gallon of water in the final rinse of the tanning process and in the rehydration bath prior to mounting. Soak for at least 15 minutes. Protex Pre Soak is absorbed into the skin and will slowly release insect-repelling vapors through the skin over a period of many years. For maximum protection, also apply Protex Mount Care (listed below) after the mount is completely dry.

Protex Mount Care
Can be used on new or existing mounts to help prevent moth or insect infestation of the hair, fur and feathers. Safe and easy to use. Works best in conjunction with Protex Pre Soak (listed above). Protex Mount Care can be applied to an existing mount by dampening a rag and working it into the hair of a mount. It can also be added to a sawdust drum for protecting the skin before mounting. It can be sprayed on the hair with a fine mist pump sprayer (it won't discolor white hair). The active ingredients of Protex mount care are absorbed into the skin and slowly release insect-repelling vapors over a period of many years.
