WASCO Accu-Flex Tail Mannikins
Don't waste your valuable time wrapping tails with cotton or excelsior. In the first place, it takes forever to wrape one but even worse, without exception a wrapped tail is not even close to being anatomically accurate! Wrapped tails are usually lumpy, round looking, and are hard to insert into the skin without the wrapping slipping up the wire. Additionally, when it finally is in place the skin doesn't fit well -- yielding a lifeless, limp looking tail. Most any taxidermist realizes that a mount will look natural only if it is mounted over a totally accurate mannikin. A tail is no different, and mounting a skin over an anatomically inaccurate tail will ruin its looks. Mount one over an Accu-Flex tail and it's right at home! Accu-Flex mammal tails are extremely accurate technical recreations of actual tails. All that is required of the taxidermist is to use wire cutters to clip the end of the wire to length, apply hide paste, and insert the Accu-Flex tail into the tail skin. Then simply push the tail wire into the mannikin. Next, hot melt glue the tail at the base to firmly anchor it and use a tablespoon of clay or mache to blend the base of the tail to the mannikin. Next, simply blend and adjust the flexible tail to the desired position, brush and comb the tail out, allow it to dry, and the job is done. It's easy to get beautiful fluffy tails with less effort and no wasted time!
