How to Mount Artificial Deer Feet
Step 1 Holding the hair back, make a clean, even cut around the hooves with a sharp knife or scalpel. |
Step 2 In between the hooves, make a cross-cut (from hoof to hoof) to allow the skin to be freed. |
Step 3 On the back side, make a straight cut from the dew claw to the hooves on both sides. |
Step 4 Make a clean cut around each dew claw and work the skin back. |
Step 5 Work the skin back on the top of the hoof and it can be pulled free from this point. |
Step 6 The skin is removed from the hoof. This procedure can be accomplished in only a few minutes. |
Step 7 A comparison of the real and artificial hoof. The skin can be preserved in your usual manner. |
Step 8 Pull the skin over the artificial hoof. |
Step 9 A hide paste is used under the skin for adhesion. Killer Glue should be used at the union with the hooves. |
Step 10 Position the skin around the dew claws and lower hooves with the same glue process. |
