Ultra Seal
Safe, non-toxic and odorless. Dries to a clear satin finish. Ultra-Seal is an ideal medium for many taxidermy applications, including competition fin backing, and rebuilding the individual nodules on the nose pads of game head mounts. Silkspan
This is the ideal fin backing material. When used with Ultra-Seal, Fin Backing Cream, Mod Podge or Tuf-Fin this product will hide any holes or tears in fins so well that you may have trouble finding the tear after it has dried. Because Silkspan is a tissue-like material, it absorbs the Ultra-Seal and when dry is almost completely transparent (without any fabric-type weave pattern). Silkspan can be used to patch any membrane on a fish, and, because it comes in sheets, you can successfully cover an entire fin (not just the edge as with tape).

Polytranspar Fin Backing Cream
This is the original formula Fin Backing Cream that has been widely imitated but never equalled. Developed for retaining the texture, transparency, and flexibility of fish fins, it also increases the durability of fins as it protects against breakage. Fin Magic is a ready-to-use casting product that can be easily tinted, providing application flexibility not previously found in other methods of fin reproduction. mounts. Fin Magic has the advantage of producing a strong, yet flexinble fin which wont break like some resins or sag like hot glue. Mix equal portions of Fin Magic sides A & B until a uniform consistency is obtained. Apply Fin Magic to each side of fin mold and clamp sides securely until cure occurs in approximately 12 to 15 minutes.
