Polytranspar Retarder
Retarder is added to slow down the drying time of airbrush paints. This is especially helpful to prevent paint from drying on the tip of the airbrush when spraying spots or detail work around the head. Use this retarder if moisture in the air causes "blushing" with FP (lacquer reducible) paints. In the south or humid areas, it is a necessity to use retarder with FP paints. Cannot be shipped by air.

Polytranspar Thinner
This high-quality lacquer thinner may be used for clean-up purposes as well as reducing or thinning Polytranspar FP Paint (lacquer reducible). Although Polytranspar paints are packaged "airbrush ready" to spray, with time some of the solvents will evaporate -- therefore, the paint must be re-thinned occasionally. The viscosity of properly thinned airbrush paint resembles lowfat milk. Flammable liquid--cannot be shipped by air. Shipping a gallon or more requires a $12.00 hazardous fee from UPS.

Methanol
Methyl alcohol (also known as wood alcohol, wood naptha, or carbinol), can be mixed with water to preserve fish skins or remove odors from foul-smelling mammal skins. Highly flammable and poisonous.

Acetone
An extremely fast solvent, acetone is recognized by its smell as fingernail polish remover. Besides its outstanding cleaning properties (especially useful in airbrush cleaning), acetone may also be used to thin lacquer-based paints (such as Polytranspar FP series or LifeTone). Highly flammable.

Clean-Up Thinner
Not all lacquer thinners are created equal. Polytranspar Thinner (listed above) is a high-grade thinner designed for mixing with airbrush paints. But for clean-up purposes, lower grade lacquer thinners are just as effective. This economical thinner is what we use in our shop for clean-up purposes, saving our high-grade thinner for paint-mixing. Flammable liquid.
