Mammal Taxidermy Instructional Videos

Carcass Casting a Bobcat
with Jan Van Hoesen

Join World Champion mammal taxidermist Jan Van Hoesen of Rogers City, Michigan in her first studio instructional video where she demonstrates exactly how to create an original urethane foam mannikin from a custom carcass cast. A bobcat is used in this demonstration, but the procedures would be applicable for any medium-sized mammal specimen. Jan demonstrates the complete procedure for producing a one-of-a-kind mannikin for taxidermists wishing to create a custom mount in a unique pose, an oddly sized specimen, or an unusual species which has no commercially available mannikins. Jan's procedure uses sand for bedding, plaster for molding, and urethane foam and Bondo for casting. Recorded in the WASCO Studio. 2 hours. (1 Tape.) Also available in DVD format.
