Splash & Ripple Construction
with Frank Newmyer

A pioneer of innovative artificial water scenes, World Champion taxidermist Frank Newmyer demonstrates his closely guarded secrets for creating outstanding effects for taxidermy and wildlife art exhibits. He discusses how to use reference, how to (invisibly) support a flying bird, how he creates underwater habitats, water surfaces, splash components, splashes, and ripples. Using clear polyester resin, hot glue, acrylic rods, plexiglas sheets, and resin sprays, Frank achieves beautiful, realistic scenes of water action frozen in time. If you want to learn the right way to create realistic artificial water splash effects for waterfowl, reptile or fish scenes, this DVD is the best information availble on this subject. Recorded in the WASCO Studio. 2 Hours.

Backwater, Mud & Marsh Scene
with Frank Newmyer

World Champion Frank Newmyer has made a career out of producing habitat marsh scenes in executive cases for waterfowl displays. For the first time, Frank demonstrates his procedures, materials and techniques for creating a beautiful habitat backwater, mud and marsh scene in an executive case for a pair of pintails. Using a variety of materials including urethane foam, polyester resin, and artificial plants, Frank shows how to create a habitat that adds both value and artistic appeal to works of taxidermy. Along the way, he explains his procedures, techniques, and thought processes he uses as the creates an impressive complementary exhibit display. Recorded in the WASCO Studio. 1-1/2 Hours.

Snow and Ice Scene
with Kelly Seibels

World Champion bird taxidermist Kelly Seibels of Alabama is well known for his beautiful artistic habitat displays. In this new video, recorded in 1994, Kelly demonstrates how he constructs this habitat base for the single Mandarin duck drake mounted in VHS261. Kelly shows exactly how he makes wet-looking marshy ground, how to make and hang icicles, the proper method of using artificial snow, how to place drops of water on the bird's back, and compositional considerations. Recorded in the WASCO Studio in Georgia. 1 1/2 hours (1 Tape.)

Special Effects
with Bob Elzner

In this video Bob explains (with the use of slides) how he constructs bases with actual running water, how he uses pumps, how he installs special lighting effects, and how he simulates splashes. He also creates a small base on camera from start to finish, using artificial rock mix and tempera paint, and he creates a water surface and splash with plexiglass, Artificial Water, and Envirotex resin. Recorded in the Breakthrough Studio. 2 Hours (1 Tape.)
